Don't Write Off Cheap Computers - They Are Worth A Look!

Do you use a computer? Who doesn't these days, I have a Mac Ibook G4. I find this little one to be fantastic, it carries out all the functions I need and many extras. Technology is moving so fast at the moment, everything is just so neat, compact and light weight, in some cases weighing in at less than five pounds and some notebook computers are only a half inch in thickness but still have as much power and capacity as some desk top computers. WOW! Still it seems technology is constantly improving.

In today's world if you are still lacking this vital piece of equipment in your home you are missing out on so much! Admittedly there are computers out there that cost an absolute fortune however, there are huge numbers of far cheaper options available if you know what you are looking for.

For many people not having a computer would mean not being able to function. Having access to a computer and the internet opens up a whole new world which centres round this small piece of equipment sitting in a corner of your lounge. There is the convenience of being able to order your weekly groceries and have the store deliver them to your door, check your bank balance at any time of the day or night or even fill in your tax return! All this and you have not moved from your lounge.

Fortunately computer prices have reduced greatly in recent times. It is possible to buy a relatively cheap computer which still comes with some great features.

Back in the late '90's I bought a Gateway desktop computer which was a monster of a thing and which set me back about $1600. It was a total con! There is no way we would be prepared to splash that sort of cash on a middle of the road computer today. With this computer there were no frills believe me and it only had 13 gigs of memory for God's sake!

Recently I paid a mere $1000 for a new Apple notebook which has 60 gigs of memory and some really great features. As time moves on it would seem you can get far more computer for less money!

If you have not yet taken the plunge I would say go for it, get online and start a whole new adventure. Some of the best deals in computers are actually on the internet, you could ask a friend or family member if you could use their computer to search the net. Dell often have some great deals where you can get the whole kit for around $300, now is that good or what?
Having said that, large superstores such as Circuit City are really good places to go for a look round and get some idea of what is available.

Happy Hunting!
